Bull Roast

Well, this one is way overdue. A few months back we attended a bull/oyster roast at a autoworkers (or maybe steelworkers) union hall. Delicious food and very interesting atmostphere! The amount of food was amazing, the music was definitely interesting, and the people were great fun to watch.

We're Baaaaaaaaaack!

Well it's been a while, but never fear we have been hard at work eat! We have all been super busy at work, but have been meeting up (and even bringing a few friends a long) over the last few months to sample more of Bmore's tasty treats. Unfortunately I have just been slacker about uploading the pictures and updating the blog.

Over the last few months we knocked the following items off the list:

14. Chiapparelli’s House Salad, Completed 1/1/11

I was looking for a place to do dinner for my 30th bday and decided I would kill two birds with one stone and chose a list item. I have a family connection, so I have eaten the Chiapparelli's House Salad at family parties, but I had never been to the restaurant. Everyone had awesome meals and the staff was super friendly. Many people said they enjoyed this salad more than the Bookmaker at Sabatino's. I like them both, but they are so different I can't choose a winner.

32. Savory muffins at Red Canoe in Lauraville, 85. Coffee from Zeke’s & 99. Eat sushi in Towson, Completed 2/20/11

Morgan had sent the rest of group an email trying to line-up knocking out a list item. In the email she presented three suggestions. Shane suggested we do all three in one day and the rest of agreed. We started at Zeke's, which has really tasty coffee. Then we walked down the street to Red Canoe, ate some muffins, talked politics and browsed the books. It was an awesome place. I really need to go back. We had spent a pretty long time at Red Canoe, so when we left there decided we could all probably each lunch, so we headed to Sushi Hana. While Zeke's and Red Canoe were new to us, I must confess Sushi Hana has been a favorite of ours for years, so this wasn't our first time, but they never disappoint!

100. Wiener schnitzel, red cabbage, and more at Eichenkranz in Highlandtown. The last traditional German food in the city, Completed 2/29

Shane was super excited (as seen below) that he was able to get wiener schnitzel, topped with a fried egg. I ordered the wurst platter and Ryan and Morgan both ordered sour beef and dumplings. Food was all good, especially the musterh :)

31. Thin crust pizza! Iggies and Joe Squared, Complete 3/15

Shane and I had been to Joe Squared multiple times, but I'm pretty sure that it was Ryan and Morgan's first time. The boys ordered a ridiculous amount of meat laden pizzas and Morgan and I split the Chicken, Corn and Apple Pizza. We also got a few bowl of risotto to split. Everything was very tasty!

Until we eat again!

String Bean Rolls at Cafe Zen

This place is pretty awesome. I think the string bean rolls was the best thing we ate there and we ate quite a selection of foods off the menu. Next time, I'm ordering this for dinner! It's like a giant pancake with some kind of brown sauce and lots of string beans.

Dangerously Delicious Pies

Dangerously Delicious Pies is now in Canton! We ate the Baltimore Bomb (Berger Cookie Pie) and it was YUMMY! The blueberry pie was also very good.

JFX Farmer's Market & Bloody Mary's with Old Bay Rimmer!

We have slacked on updating the blog but we have actually accomplished a few list items!

On 6/20 (that's exactly 3 months ago for those of you keeping score at home!) we made a trip to the JFX Farmer’s Market. I wish I could remember more details about that day, but sadly my brain storage is all filled up with things less exciting then the farmer's market. Anyway, our group consisted of Melissa, Ryan, Morgan, Shane and myself. I remember we ate some tasty stuff, met a really awesome man who sold us a giant bag of veggies for $5 and met the owners of our favorite beef, Hickory Chance Farms. If you are a beef eater, I highly suggest checking out their products. They sell them at lots of farms, markets or you can buy from them directly. It was a hot, but beautiful and luckily for us the JFK provided some much need shade!

On 8/29, we knocked the Blood Mary's with Old Bay Rimmer off the list. The previous day we completed a pub crawl and decide the best way to recover from an entire day of drinking is too drink more for breakfast! Since it's only a hop, skip and jump from Canton Square, we walked from Ryan and Morgan's house to Speakeasy Saloon to grab some breakfast. We weren't planning on completing a list item that morning but the Baltimore Foodie Challenge gods made it so! The food was delicious and the Blood Mary's were even better.

**Warning - Please keep in mind these pictures were taken the morning following a pub crawl! **

Tune in next time for another update on a tasty Baltimore treat!

Baltimore Snowball Factory

This was quite a while ago, but we all made it out for snowballs in Essex one night. Flavors included Reese's Pieces, Chocolate Coconut with marshmallow, Blood Orange, and....Shane, what flavor was yours again?!
